architecture and music

http://www.youtube.com/user/tedtalksdirector?blend=1&ob=4#p/search/1/Se8kcnU-uZw

an interesting summary on how architecture (or lack thereof) influenced music development and style. as an amateur musician who has no fixed place to practice music, i am constantly playing in new practice rooms, and have found that the space i play in can have as much to do with the quality of the practice session as any other factor. it is a convenient thing to blame too, when things go awry (read: i play like shit)

and i tell myself after i record - aww man that didnt sound too great,  there must be bad acoustics...
