amiens cathedral

I remember doing a report in high school on the city of Amiens, and talking about this very same cathedral. If you would have asked me in high school if i would ever see it, let alone be living so near it, i would have said you were crazy.
sometimes i look back at notes/journals from years past, and enjoy the mix of  past (fantasies) and present (realities). it has been a wild journey.

 on the level of the studium - this photo could be considered interesting in that it shows a gothic cathedral, with all of its wonderful decor and motifs and symbolism.

for me, although this picture is not one of the best photos (or snapshots i have taken- it is off center, the color is not great), it is not the architecure or history that interests me ; for me, the punctum dominates the picture, overwhlems it - and that is to say -
the imposition of my past self on the image of an ancient cathedral, a nerdy high school kid in kansas with a dream to travel, and  being able to  realise this dream over the past couple years.
